About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, professional, and proactive Facilities Supervisor to join our on-site management team.

As the Facilities Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and well-presented operation of the development. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance of the building, managing contractors, supporting compliance activities, and ensuring communal areas and resident amenities are maintained to the highest standards.

The successful candidate will be a confident communicator who can build positive working relationships with residents, contractors, colleagues, and management. You will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team, taking ownership of tasks and using your initiative to identify and resolve issues. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and professional while managing multiple priorities are essential.

This is a hands-on role requiring a practical and solution-focused individual who takes pride in maintaining high standards, supporting building safety and compliance, and delivering an exceptional living environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities

Building Operations

  • Carry out routine inspections of communal areas and building systems.
  • Testing of life safety systems including fire alarms, emergency lights, smoke ventilation system
  • Identify defects and maintenance issues and ensure they are resolved promptly.
  • Support the safe and efficient operation of all building services.
  • Maintain accurate records, inspections and compliance documentation.
  • Provide clear updates and reports to management

Contractor Management

  • Coordinate contractor attendance and site access.
  • Support servicing and maintenance works on site.
  • Ensure contractors comply with health and safety requirements.
  • Monitor standards of work and completion of tasks.
  • Communicate outcomes, actions and recommendations back to management.

Site Standards & Presentation

  • Support cleaning, housekeeping and presentation standards – 2 days a week.
  • Assist with waste management and refuse processes.
  • Carry out external cleaning duties, including jet washing where required.
  • Carry out basic maintenance tasks where appropriate.

Resident Support

  • Assist residents with maintenance-related enquiries.
  • Contribute positively to the overall resident experience.

Health & Safety

  • Promote a strong health and safety culture.
  • Conduct safety inspections and report hazards promptly.
  • Support statutory inspections, testing and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with emergency response procedures when required.

About You

We're looking for someone who is confident, organised and able to work independently without constant supervision.

You will have:

  • Experience within residential property, facilities management, hospitality or a similar environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to deal professionally with contractors, residents and suppliers.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience coordinating servicing and maintenance activities.
  • The ability to provide clear updates and reports to management.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Experience using digital reporting, maintenance or facilities management systems.
  • A practical, hands-on approach with a willingness to support operational and cleaning duties when required.
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.

Desirable Qualifications

  • COSHH qualification.
  • IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
  • Fire Safety Awareness Training.
  • Experience within a high-rise residential development.
