We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder to join our team in Wales, UK. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for welding stainless steel components and copper-nickel alloys, working on the day shift (07:30β16:00). When welding duties are not required, the candidate will assist with other production-related tasks as directed by the company. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety. Experience with thin wall welding and multiple alloy types is highly advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Perform TIG welding of stainless steel and copper-nickel components in accordance with company WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications).
- Carry out welding tasks across various positions and joint configurations, including thin-wall (β€1.5 mm) components.
- Conduct on-site welding tests as required for qualification and quality assurance.
- Operate and maintain power tools and welding equipment.
- Perform liquid penetrant inspections and verify weld integrity through self-inspection.
- Follow all relevant safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organization within the work area.
- Participate in first aid training provided by the company.
- Support additional production-related duties when welding is not required.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years of welding experience, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Proven ability to TIG weld a range of materials.
- Experience with pipe welding, particularly thin-wall dairy piping.
- Knowledge of helium leak detection (desirable but not essential).
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for finesse welding work.
- Familiarity with welding gases and filler materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and weld documentation.
- Experience testing and inspecting own work for defects or flaws.
- Reliability and commitment to consistent, high-quality workmanship.
