SALAD is one of the most exciting growth stories in UK consumer fintech. We are an FCA-authorised lender with a simple, stubborn belief: that fair, affordable credit could and should reach the millions of people the mainstream currently overlooks. Where traditional lenders see a thin credit file and say no, we use our proprietary and King’s Award-winning credit decisioning technology, built around Open Banking, to read and analyse real consumer financial behaviour and say yes, responsibly and affordably.

It is working. We are growing fast, and we hold over 16,000 Trustpilot reviews with an average score of 4.9 from customers who thought they were invisible to lenders. We are now building the team and infrastructure to do it at a far greater scale. This role is a key part of that build.

Bring structure, clarity, and delivery discipline to SALAD's most important cross-functional programmes. Coordinate across commercial functions, technology, and external partners so that strategic priorities translate into deliverable plans, dependencies are managed, and progress stays visible to leadership. Build the proportionate programme management discipline SALAD needs at our current scale, without the overhead of a formal PMO.

What you'll do

  • Own programme management end to end for a defined portfolio of strategic, multi-workstream initiatives that could for example span across new consumer credit product launches, customer account management transformation, or technology platform transition.
  • Work directly with ExCo programme sponsors to translate strategic intent into structured plans with clear milestones, owners, dependencies, and decision points.
  • Coordinate delivery across all functions of the business, holding workstream leads accountable on completeness of requirements and on delivery against agreed timelines.
  • Design and embed proportionate governance, reporting, and prioritisation frameworks to support ExCo and Board decision‑making, including risk and dependency tracking, status reporting, and benefit realisation.
  • Operate as a hands‑on programme lead within a matrix organisation, directly building plans, governance tooling, and reporting rather than delegating to a team.
  • Drive consistent programme disciplines across the business, building organisational capability over time and improving delivery effectiveness.
  • Enable dynamic re‑planning and prioritisation in response to emerging evidence, regulatory change, or commercial shifts, balancing rigour with the pace SALAD operates at.

What you'll bring

  • Significant programme management experience appropriate to the seniority of the role, with evidence of leading complex, multi-workstream programmes end to end in a regulated commercial environment, ideally financial services.
  • Experience operating in a matrix organisation as a hands‑on individual contributor rather than running a large PMO team.
  • Strong commercial literacy and the confidence to operate at ExCo level, holding senior stakeholders accountable on delivery without escalating unnecessarily.
  • Demonstrable experience building governance and reporting frameworks proportionate to scale.
  • A track record of building and managing relationships with external product and service partners, such as agencies, technology vendors, and outsourcing providers, holding them accountable to delivery commitments while keeping the relationship productive.
  • It's a bonus if you have experience delivering programmes in consumer lending or fintech, prior exposure to FCA Consumer Duty implementation, experience deploying AI or automation programmes in regulated environments, or formal qualifications such as MSP, P3O, or Prince2 Practitioner.
