Purpose of the position: As Survey Workshop Engineer, you will be part of the Survey Asset department and report to the Survey Asset Manager. You will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance and testing of survey and positioning equipment, while supporting related logistical activities.

How can you support us? Here below are your responsibilities:

  • Testing, maintenance, and preparation of Asset equipment for projects in line with department QA/QC procedures.
  • Liaise with suppliers to repair damage or faulty equipment in house, or to arrange out of house repairs and following of process.
  • Update records of equipment maintenance, services, calibration, failure & repairs, and close out fault reports submitted from the offshore teams.
  • Responsible for the receipt, storage and registering of all new equipment into the department Asset Tracking System.
  • Assist warehouse team in packing of equipment to safeguard the serviceability.
  • Assist Support Engineers as required in equipment selection, and Asset availability, as required in support of project requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance, support and advise to offshore survey teams for any equipment matters and liaise with equipment suppliers to resolve technical issues.
  • If required, assist vessel mobilisations and demobilisations by liaising with the support team, utilising internal documents as reference.
  • Maintains inventory and stock levels of all equipment and consumables.
  • Contribute to Survey equipment technical updates, bulletins etc.
  • Assist in maintaining necessary tools and equipment registers required to execute survey equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Working according to the department QA/QC procedures, standards and specifications and contribute to their improvement.
  • Actively partake in research and development of internally designed solutions to meet project requirements.
  • Assist Warehouse as required on receipt of third party hired survey equipment.

What are we looking for?

Education: College education and/or industry training in survey related electronic engineering

Experience: Experience in an onshore workshop environment, inspecting, testing and maintaining survey equipment.

Technical skills: Experience in the installation and interfacing of survey equipment and sensors. Experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings (both electronic and mechanical)

IT skills: Good computer literacy (Microsoft Office applications).

Pre and post-employment medical assessments will be required and included as part of the Offer of Employment for all workshop personnel.
