ROV Intervention Engineer

Saipem is a global leader in the engineering and construction of major projects for the energy and infrastructure sectors, both offshore and onshore. As ROV Intervention Engineer you will support all Saipem ROV and Subsea Operations across all projects and report to the ROV Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Review project installation procedures to ensure practicality and efficiency from a ROV operations point of view.
  • Provide technical support to ongoing ROV offshore operations as required.
  • Prepare and write technical documentation for remotely operated subsea equipment, e.g. operating procedures and operations & maintenance manuals.
  • Determine ROV tooling required to support operations and advise Saipem Projects on all aspects of ROV interfaces.
  • Specify specialist ROV tooling that may be required to support Saipem projects.
  • Provide technical assistance to Commercial Departments during bid preparation from a ROV interfaces point of view.
  • Become familiar with and maintain awareness of Saipem’s current requirements and, where applicable, the latest industry codes and standards including statutory rules and regulations.
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out in a manner consistent with Saipem’s policy on health, safety, quality and environmental matters in accordance with Saipem specific procedures.
  • Ensure your own safety and that of others is not compromised or placed at risk.

Qualifications

Experience: 7 years of technical experience with ROVs either onshore or offshore. Experience may have been gained in several different roles, e.g. ROV crew, Project Engineer, Field Engineer.

Education: Engineering Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent.

Technical skills: Subsea construction and remote intervention in offshore operations. Strong understanding of ROV systems, tooling and subsea equipment. Knowledge of industry standards, including ISO 13628‑8 Design and operation of subsea production systems.

IT software: MS Office package and AutoCAD proficient.
