As a Buyer you will be responsible for the purchase orders within our Aberdeen office, working in collaboration with the other buyers and reporting to the Procurement Manager. This role will focus on our ROV activity, which involves a high workload and a fast‑paced environment.
How can you support us?
- Support internal stakeholders and external Vendors throughout the entire Tender process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with procedures;
- Prepare commercial and economic bid tabulations to compare proposals and contribute to negotiations to achieve the best bid result;
- Draft and manage purchase orders, service contracts and agreements, including handling deviations, revisions and extensions;
- Close out Tender exercises by securing vendor confirmations, arrange handover meetings to internal Agreement owner/User Depts, and complete proper document handover and electronic archiving;
- Manage and verify technical documentation received with Purchase Requisitions and Technical Evaluations, ensuring correctness and alignment with company standards.
What are we looking for?
Experience/background
- First professional experience as a buyer or in a similar role, ideally within the ROV, robotics and Oil & Gas industry.
Technical knowledge
- Understanding of procurement and supply chain processes, working knowledge of supplier management and cycle accounting and a broad understanding of commercial contractual terms. Experience with E-Procurement Systems is a nice-to-have.
IT skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel), DocuSign, Sharepoint, working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP software.
Soft skills
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal abilities, readiness to work in fast‑paced environments.
