Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Music Department’s teaching staff with curricular and co-curricular music-making
- Prepare resources for use in curricular and co-curricular music-making
- Assist in classroom lessons focusing on advising older pupils with composition and performance work
- Take rehearsals and coach groups of individual pupils including piano accompaniment
- Help with the organising of music events inside and outside of school
- Work closely with the Music Department Administrator to ensure the smooth running of the instrumental teaching provision and other aspects of the Department
- Work with the Director of Music on matters relating to the Schola Cantorum, the school’s liturgical choir, including accompanying boys to external music engagements such as rehearsals at London’s opera house
What We’re Looking For
Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and driven to make sure that pupils are developing and enjoying music. The right candidate will have strong communication and organisation skills and the confidence to work with children in a trusted role. The ability to offer skilled support in music performance will be advantageous. Experience in choral music, strong keyboard skills and/or knowledge of Music Technology would all be helpful in the Department. Candidates interested in a future teaching career will find a range of opportunities to develop their skills and experience.
