About Us
Saint John Houghton Catholic Voluntary Academy opened in January 1965 as The Blessed John Houghton Catholic School to provide a secondary Catholic education in the local area. The school has grown in size and reputation ever since. We are an 11-16 comprehensive school, providing education for girls and boys of all abilities and we pride ourselves on our inclusive nature. Saint John Houghton Catholic Voluntary Academy is proud to be part of the St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy Trust.

You will be responsible for:
- Teaching classes, including planning, recording, assessing and meeting the social and learning needs of individual pupils
- Maintaining the positive Catholic ethos and core values of the school
- Fulfilling the professional responsibilities of a teacher and meeting the expectations set out in the Teachers’ Standards
