At Okarno, we are looking for an Operations Shift Manager to join our Operations team, leading our afternoon shift and ensuring we deliver safe, efficient and high-performing warehouse operations for our customers. This is a key leadership role within our warehouse operation, where you will have ownership of shift performance, leading and developing our front-line teams to achieve operational targets. Working closely with Area Supervisors, warehouse colleagues, transport partners and wider stakeholders, you will play an important role in driving safety, service, productivity and continuous improvement across the operation. This role is ideal for an experienced warehouse or logistics leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, making decisions, solving problems and supporting teams to perform at their best. As this role is dedicated to our afternoon shift, you will need to be comfortable working these hours consistently. Working hours are Monday - Thursday: 14:00 - 22:00 and Friday: 13:00 - 20:00.
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience leading teams within a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment, with the confidence to manage operational performance and people outcomes.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, including labour planning, workflow management, service delivery and operational KPIs.
- A strong commitment to health and safety, with the ability to identify risks, make decisions and maintain high standards across the operation.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience coaching, developing and supporting team members to achieve their potential.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to make decisions under pressure and drive continuous improvement.
What you will be doing:
- Leading and managing afternoon shift operations, ensuring safety, quality, service and productivity targets are achieved.
- Managing and supporting Area Supervisors, providing clear direction, coaching and feedback to build capability and accountability.
- Planning and optimising shift resources, including labour deployment, workflow priorities and operational activities.
- Monitoring performance data, identifying improvement opportunities and taking action to resolve operational challenges.
- Working closely with internal teams and transport partners to ensure smooth communication, effective problem-solving and excellent customer service.
