Here at Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland we\’re looking for a Life Cycle Engineer to join our Life Cycle Analysis team. In this cross functional position, we\’re looking for someone that has strong LCA experience, and is an advanced user of either GaBi or Simapro, preferably. You\’ll be joining a well-established team, that is forever broadening, and you can play a part on its journey to become our very own centre of expertise; you\’ll come in as an LCA expert, but will have the opportunity to develop your skills in other areas, learning from a knowledgeable team around you. This opportunity would suit someone who is interested in innovation around LCAs and EPDs, with a continuous improvement approach. This is a home based, remote, position, with occasional travel to our head office in East Leake. What we\’re looking for: Professional experience in LCA and EPD topics whatever the business area (preferably in the construction sector or in a consulting firm, but we\’re open to industry). Product LCA experience is highly advantageous. Advanced practice of LCA tools GaBi and/or Simapro/OpenLCA Knowledge on IT and data management is a plus A scientific or math related degree would be advantageous Strong Excel and report writing skills Result and customer-orientedWhat you will be doing: Alongside other members of the LCA team, you will be working on the following topics/services: LCA, EPD and environmental data processing and analysis: Perform Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) of Saint-Gobain products in order to support eco-innovation projects or to develop Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). Consolidate, process and analyse environmental data at product, plant, country or business unit level. LCA and EPD Training: Organise and facilitate training to educate Saint-Gobain Business on LCA and EPD and to spread the use of LCA tools in the Group. Support local teams to make them autonomous in LCA calculation and EPD development. Maintenance and updating of LCA tools: Keep various tools up to date, including: the LCA tool, the LCA IT server and LCA models. Eco-innovation: Take part in eco-innovation projects in collaboration with Marketing, R&D and Purchasing. Sustainability roadmaps, with focus on CO2 roadmaps: Contribute to the implementation of CO2 roadmaps in the different Businesses and countries by providing calculation tools and data for the assessment of CO2 emissions. Knowledge sharing: Contribute and share knowledge, and increase the level of empowerment on LCA, EPD and eco-innovation in Saint-Gobain. Circular Economy: Identifying circularity opportunities for businesses and working with their representatives to drive activity in this area which can support improvements in LCA results.
