At Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland, we're looking for a Data Centre Solutions Development Manager to strengthen our technical position across the UK Data Centre sector. This is a senior individual contributor role, not a management position. You won't have direct reports, but you'll have real influence, working across commercial, specification, technical, product and marketing teams to shape how Saint-Gobain engages with priority Data Centre projects. You'll get involved early in the project lifecycle, aligning our solutions to what the sector needs and flagging any gaps in technical readiness, compliance, or proposition before they become a problem. If you enjoy working at the intersection of technical credibility and commercial judgement, and you're comfortable operating without a fixed playbook in a market that's still evolving, this could be a great fit. This is a field-based, national role covering the UK, with regular travel to customers. A full UK driving license is essential.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading technical engagement on priority Data Centre opportunities, making sure our solutions match project requirements from an early stage
- Building and maintaining a clear picture of sector standards, regulations, testing requirements and compliance criteria
- Identifying gaps in technical evidence, approvals or certification that could affect our competitiveness, and pushing them through the right governance routes
- Getting involved in industry events, forums and technical discussions to build credibility and access to decision-makers
- Coordinating input from technical, product, standards, marketing, specification and commercial teams, mobilising the right expertise at the right time
- Turning market insight into practical recommendations for solution positioning and technical messaging
- Supporting the development of sector-specific technical content and internal training
What we're looking for:
- Experience in Data Centres, mission-critical environments or other technically demanding sectors
- Strong understanding of technically complex construction or building systems, ideally in mission-critical, specification-led or consultant-influenced markets
- Confidence engaging with consultants, contractors, end users and internal technical specialists
- Commercial awareness and the ability to prioritise effort against the highest-value opportunities
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
