Pasquill, part of Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland, is looking for a Business Development Manager to cover the Southwest of England. This is a customer-facing sales role focused on regional housebuilders and builders merchants, with real scope to grow your own patch and shape how it's managed. This is a full-time, permanent, field-based position covering the South West region, including Bristol, Cornwall and Exeter, with the flexibility to work from home when you’re not out visiting customers.

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous sales or customer-facing experience, ideally within engineered timber solutions or the housebuilder/merchant sector
  • Strong all-round sales skills and a solid grasp of the sales cycle
  • A relationship-first approach, with the communication and negotiation skills to back it up
  • Comfortable with numbers and commercially minded (margin, profit, the usual suspects)
  • Organised, proactive, and happy managing your own time and area
  • A full UK driving licence, as travel and occasional overnight stays come with the territory

What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing and growing your customer base through targeted, consistent activity
  • Building long-term relationships across housebuilder and merchant accounts, at multiple levels within each business
  • Delivering profitable sales against agreed targets, with a clear focus on margin as well as volume
  • Working closely with the Design and Operations teams to make sure customers get a consistently strong experience
  • Spotting opportunities in the market and bringing new prospects on board
  • Keeping an eye on competitor activity and using that insight to stay ahead
  • Reporting regularly on activity and results, agreeing next steps with the Sales Director
