Working for Saint-Gobain UK&I, the role is part of a team cooperating with multiple SG Gypsum businesses around the world. We develop, design, and build new gypsum factories and update existing sites with new equipment and processes. We have an international, multi-skilled team that interacts well with business units across the world, presenting opportunities to understand different market practices and cultures, and providing travel opportunities to various sites based on project needs.
About the Role:
We’re looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team, working on multi-million capital projects across the globe. You’ll be involved in every stage, from concept design to project execution, managing specifications, cost estimations, and technical comparisons.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop concept designs, process plans, and site layouts
- Lead design discussions and coordinate project requirements
- Manage AutoDesk Cloud-based projects (BIM for 3D model collaboration)
- Conduct clash detection using 3D modelling tools
- Work with external design houses, contractors, suppliers, and internal process teams
- Ensure projects are on time, on quality and within budget
- Travel internationally to support project execution
What We’re Looking For:
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- 3-5 years’ design-and-site experience in industrial civil engineering (capital projects)
- AutoCAD proficiency (Civil Engineering Suite) – Essential
- Knowledge of Revit, Tekla, Consteel, Navisworks, and BIM Cloud
- Strong background in sub-soil structures, geotechnical reports, and hydrology
- Good knowledge on understanding Structural analysis
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and a strong team player
Industry Preference: Cement, gypsum, glass, or industrial construction
