At Saint Gobain External Solutions we are looking for a Supply Chain Planner to join our Planning Team and play a key role in delivering effective production planning, inventory control, and raw material scheduling while balancing customer service, manufacturing efficiency, and stock optimisation.
As part of a small but highly effective planning team, the Supply Chain Planner will be supported and nurtured every step of the way as you build your career within Saint Gobain.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience working as a Supply Chain Planner, Materials Planner or similar role
- Production or manufacturing planning experience would be highly beneficial, though not a prerequisite
- Experience using SAP or similar ERP system
- Understanding of inventory management, stock control, and production capacity planning
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, lead times, and business requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple data sources
- Confidence to challenge, influence, and make recommendations where required
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to planning and supply chain management
Key responsibilities:
- Working alongside two Supply Chain Planners to manage effective production planning and scheduling
- Planning manufacturing activities approximately one week in advance
- Monitoring inventory levels and maintaining appropriate stock coverage
- Working with short-term forecast and monitoring forecast accuracy to support effective production, inventory, and materials planning.
- Raising purchase orders for raw materials in line with supplier lead times
- Identifying, managing, and escalating supply risks and material shortages
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain and planning functions
