At Saint-Gobain Glass, we’re looking for an experienced and motivated Batch Plant Manager to take ownership of our batch and cullet processing operations at our Eggborough site. This is a key role in a high-performing, 24/7 continuous process environment—ideal for someone who thrives on operational excellence and developing teams.

Our mission is to be the benchmark for service and innovation in the industry, and this role is critical to delivering on that promise.
Your Role – What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the safe and efficient operation of the batch and cullet plants, ensuring full compliance with HSE standards, risk assessments, and environmental legislation.
- Manage all raw material and cullet handling, including ordering, delivery, stock control, and unloading processes.
- Provide hands-on support for plant operations, including technical expertise with the Yokogawa control system.
- Monitor and continuously improve key performance metrics, such as yield, plant OEE, and operational KPIs, particularly in our newly installed cullet processing plant.
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain cullet quality and furnace batch standards.
- Coordinate both planned and reactive maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
- Coach, develop, and lead a team of permanent contractors and plant operators to achieve high performance and accountability.
- Play a key role in our World Class Manufacturing (WCM) continuous improvement programme.
What We’re Looking For
- Solid understanding of health & safety compliance in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven leadership and people management experience.
- Strong background in manufacturing, preferably within a continuous process setting.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as WCM, Lean, or Six Sigma.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments and with suppliers.
- High level of IT literacy, including confidence with Excel and production systems.
- Degree-qualified in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Exposure to supplier management or external contractor coordination.
- Practical engineering or quality systems experience.
- Strong production planning and organizational abilities.
