Role Purpose: As part of our commitment to innovation, efficiency, and sustainability we continuously invest in capital projects to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance environmental performance. Drive a safety-first culture, ensuring all activities contribute to zero harm. Manage capital investment projects from concept to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specification. Manage projects through structured project management tools and documentation whilst ensuring clear concise communication to the business and stakeholders on a regular basis. Identify and implement improvements to enhance production output, deliver efficiencies, reduce waste, and improve cost-effectiveness. Research and evaluate new technologies, automation, and AI-driven solutions. Drive urgency, determination, and a systematic approach to remove roadblocks to resolve issues and deliver projects in an optimal fashion. Oversee and assess new and existing processes and workflows, to devise, implement and test new strategies to help optimise productivity. Manage key performance indicators which demonstrate value, performance, reliability, efficiency along with project delivery measures including Return on Investment. Create tender documents and specifications for new equipment, tooling and machinery. Produce CAPEX justification documents to detail return on investments (ROI), carbon reductions, business/process improvements for board approval. Analyse data to identify areas that need improvement and upgrades by developing best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality output. Budget/Financial responsibility manage budgets and spends.
Essential Criteria:
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or HNC, HND or BTEC in a relevant discipline with time served
- A minimum of 3 years experience gained in a manufacturing environment, or similar role.
- Project Management Experience dealing with CAPEX.
- Evidence of increasing plant capacity
- Experience in the delivery of operational efficiencies
Desirable Criteria:
- Project Management Qualification
- Experience with using AutoCAD or Solid works.
- Fault-finding experience on automated machinery & electrical systems
- Experience in using Navision/SAP ERP system.
- Advanced Excel, MS Project / Powerpoint.
