The Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimising, and sustaining production processes to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective high-volume manufacturing. The role focuses on process stability, yield improvement, cycle time reduction, quality enhancement, and continuous improvement, while supporting new product introductions and ongoing operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate manufacturing related issues, route cause analysis and problem solving
  • Lead and support operational improvement projects, including lean initiatives, process and process flow improvements
  • Support quality improvement / scrap reduction initiatives and support the quality and production teams in this respect
  • Process yield and defect rates
  • Cycle time and throughput improvement
  • Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Scrap and rework reduction with a view to achieving Net Manufacturing Savings (NMS)
  • Creation and control of SOPs and WI
  • Cost savings from process improvements
  • Successful NPI launches and production ramp-ups

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • HNC/HND relevant experience considered
  • Strong understanding of high-volume manufacturing processes
  • Experience in the use of process capability analysis (SPC)
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen
  • Understanding and use of continuous Improvement, root cause analysis, and structured problem solving
  • Experience with automation, fixtures, tooling, material handling and industrial equipment
  • Data analysis and use of manufacturing KPIs (OEE, scrap, yield)

Desirable Criteria

  • 2 years experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Experience in industries such as automotive, electronics, FMCG, or aerospace
  • Masters degree or professional certification (Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt)
  • Ability to produce CAD drawings and operational layouts
