At Saint-Gobain Exterior Solutions (SGES) we are looking for a Process Engineer to join our Kilwaughter brand in Larne, Northern Ireland. This is a stand-alone and varied role in which no two days are the same. You’ll be responsible for developing, optimising, and sustaining production processes to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective high-volume manufacturing.
This Process Engineer role will be a part of Operations and will report directly into the Strategic Projects Manager. The role focuses on process stability, yield improvement, cycle time reduction, quality enhancement, and continuous improvement, all the while supporting new product introductions and ongoing operational excellence.
SGES is part of Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland and includes our Kilwaughter and Weber brands. Together we can provide customers with the solutions they need to solve their problems and create high performing sustainable buildings. Kilwaughter has a rich heritage, created around the quarry in Northern Ireland which has been driven and developed to incorporate two manufacturing operations over 75 acres and 4 distribution centres. These operational facilities are the lynchpin of the company purpose and vision, delivering innovative and high-quality products.
This is a days-based role working Monday-Friday.
What we’re looking for:
- Degree educated in an engineering or manufacturing discipline; however, we would consider HND/HNC level qualifications along with demonstrable experience in a similar role
- A strong understanding of high-volume manufacturing processes
- Experience with analysing process capability and a working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen etc
- Understanding and use of continuous Improvement, root cause analysis, and structured problem solving
- Excellent communication and the ability to influence and present findings and solutions
- Experience with automation, fixtures, tooling, material handling and industrial equipment
- Data analysis and use of manufacturing KPIs (OEE, scrap, yield)
What you will be doing:
- Lead and support operational improvement projects, including lean initiatives, process and process flow improvements
- Perform root-cause analysis to investigate manufacturing issues and facilitate solutions
- Support quality improvements and scrap reduction initiatives, supporting and collaborating with the production and manufacturing teams
- Data collection and analysis to interrogate and improve process yield and defect rates, cycle time and throughput rates, overall equipment effectiveness etc
- Launch new products and production ramp-up campaigns.
- The creation and control of SOPs
