NOVA External Ventures is the Saint-Gobain unit dedicated to developing strategic partnerships between the Group and start-up companies all over the world. We apply minority investments as a powerful tool to support those collaborations. The External Ventures team serves as a unique interface for start-ups to create and develop links with various parts of the group globally.
NOVA is seeking an External Venturing Manager to continue to drive Saint-Gobain's innovative business growth through the exploration of external partnerships and strategic investments. As part of an energetic global team, the candidate will bring the most promising external innovations to the Saint-Gobain Group. You will report to the Director External Ventures who is overseeing NOVA activities in the Americas.
The main objective of the team is to help our parent company access new technologies, learn about new business models, and make introductions to passionate entrepreneurs. In this role, you will work with Saint-Gobain business leaders to advance innovation and grow business activities through identifying and engaging with start-up companies that align with the strategic focus of the business and/or the Group.
Major tasks in the role of an External Venturing Manager:
- Building and growing Saint-Gobain's network in the startup ecosystem (entrepreneurs, investors, incubators, etc.), and representing Saint-Gobain at industry, investor, and partnering conferences.
- Facilitating collaboration between targets and SG businesses.
- Understanding overall strategy of the BUs and translating those business objectives and strategies to identify opportunities aligned with current efforts.
- Conducting in-depth due diligence of promising startups, developing deal structures, and negotiating contracts with prospective start-up partners.

- Bachelor's Degree with 12 years, master's degree with 7 years, or Ph.D. with 3 years of experience in Engineering/Science with additional background in Business, Finance, or Legal being a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in Start-up, Venture Capital Investor, or M&A experience or experience in fields like strategy, consulting, finance, business development, investments, etc. preferred.

Benefits in joining us: Certain locations require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $102,000 to $158,000 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 13% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position is $115,260 to $178,540. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
