The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) serves as a strategic partner, trusted advisor, and collaborative leader, bridging the gap between Saint-Gobain Technology Services NA (SGTS) and the business unit(s) they support. This role focuses on fostering strong relationships, building trust, and empowering business partners to leverage IT solutions effectively to achieve their strategic objectives.
The BRM works closely with business leaders to understand their needs, challenges, and goals, aligning IT services and solutions to drive measurable value, operational efficiency, and innovation. Acting as a key advocate for IT within the business, the BRM champions digital transformation initiatives, supports demand management, and ensures seamless execution of IT projects and programs. - Communicate progress, challenges, and achievements clearly to leadership and project sponsors.
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field; or a high school diploma with 10+ years of relevant IT experience.
Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years leading IT projects or support teams, with a proven record of aligning technology solutions to business needs.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language.
Languages: Fluent in English; French Canadian fluency (written and verbal) required for Canada-based roles.
Travel: Up to 35% across the U.S. and Canada.
Highly Preferred Certifications: Business Relationship Management (BRMP, CBRM), IT Service Management (ITIL), or Project and Program Management (PMP, CSM, SAFe).
Business & Technical Insight: Familiarity with manufacturing environments, Industry 4.0, IoT, and digital transformation initiatives. Strong business acumen with the ability to identify opportunities where technology delivers measurable value. Skilled at balancing strategic and tactical perspectives to guide IT investments and ensure value realization.
Interpersonal & Leadership Skills: Proven ability to influence, persuade, and collaborate effectively across teams and leadership levels. Exceptional presentation skills; able to synthesize complex topics into clear, impactful messages. Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and conflict-management capabilities. Proactively identifies opportunities to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen IT-business alignment. Anticipates and mitigates IT-related risks to support operational continuity and business resilience.
