To co-ordinate and administer a programme of recruitment, on-boarding, induction, engagement and training for our volunteer workforce. Using first-class administrative skills to proactively manage your workload in a busy environment with minimum supervision. To identify and promote appropriate and productive opportunities for the public to support and contribute towards the provision of the Hospice work across the areas it serves.
To confidently build strong working relationships within and across our operational teams, demonstrating a commitment to inclusivity, building the trust and engagement of volunteers at various levels of ability. This role also includes piloting new approaches to volunteer recruitment, attending events both face to face and online, and creating a strong presence throughout the local community; sometimes out of office hours and occasional weekends.
The Volunteer Service is entering an exciting period of development and expansion. You will join the team to support the planning and delivery of the service and create an inclusive, welcoming and supportive place to volunteer. You will help to expand current recruitment methods, opportunities and roles, exploring the different skills and roles that will be needed in the Hospice over the next five years.
You will be instrumental in ensuring the right framework is in place to support our volunteers and staff and to create for every volunteer a wonderful experience which is worthwhile and valued. This role will be varied, a combination of daily management tasks with the ability to deliver creative, exciting events and projects. You will work with the wider Voluntary Services Team to develop a Volunteer Strategy which is closely aligned to the Hospice's strategic objectives.
This role really is a fantastic opportunity for you to join an innovative and fast-paced team which will support the future of Hospice services to our local communities. You are required to have the ability to travel efficiently and effectively across locations within the hospice catchment area using your own vehicle.

We are a dynamic, forward-thinking organisation delivering a full range of specialist palliative care services for individuals and their loved ones with palliative or end of life care needs. We achieved Outstanding in our CQC inspection and have reconfigured our services to meet the changing needs of our local community. We support 5 Clinical Commissioning Groups and have a robust governance structure in place. We provide ward clinical services within a modern, personal and friendly 18-bedded unit, as well as a Hospice Community Team, Hospice at Home Service and Specialist Day Therapy Service. We also have the hospice Pepperell Education Centre that has an excellent reputation for delivering high quality education programmes and study days.
