We\’re looking for a Senior Content & SEO Manager who is passionate about search engine optimisation and has a proven track record in scaling organic traffic, improving visibility, and driving performance across digital channels. Whether your experience is in startups, e-commerce, or working with Shopify, we want someone who thrives in dynamic environments and is ready to lead our SEO initiatives to new heights.

The Role

As the Senior Content & SEO Manager, you will take the lead in developing, executing, and managing SEO strategies that drive organic growth and enhance the digital presence of our brand. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead SEO projects aimed at increasing organic traffic, improving rankings, and optimising conversion rates. Your work will have a direct impact on business growth by improving visibility, leveraging data-driven insights, and optimising both on-site and off-site SEO strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  1. SEO Strategy Leadership: Lead the development and execution of an advanced SEO strategy across a variety of digital platforms, focusing on increasing organic search visibility and driving sustainable growth.
  2. On-Page & Off-Page SEO Optimisation: Optimise on-page elements including meta tags, headers, content, URL structure, and internal linking to improve rankings. Manage off-page SEO initiatives, including link-building campaigns to enhance domain authority and establish high-quality backlinks.
  3. Technical SEO Management: Oversee technical SEO audits and ensure the proper implementation of improvements across the site. Resolve issues related to site speed, crawlability, mobile optimisation, and site architecture. Collaborate with developers and other technical teams to implement necessary fixes.
  4. Content & Keyword Strategy: Develop a strategic approach to keyword research and content optimisation. Work closely with content teams to ensure the creation of SEO-friendly content that aligns with business goals and audience intent.
  5. Use of SEO SaaS Tools: Leverage SEO SaaS tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, or similar for keyword research, backlink analysis, and performance tracking. You’ll also be expected to use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Search Console (GSC) to monitor SEO performance, measure KPIs, and inform decision-making.
  6. Data-Driven Decision Making & Reporting: Use data from GA4, GSC, and SEO SaaS tools to monitor and assess the impact of SEO efforts. Develop regular reports on SEO performance and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.
  7. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and development, to align SEO strategies with overall business objectives. Effectively communicate SEO strategies and results to stakeholders at all levels.
  8. Leadership & Team Development: Build and lead the Content & SEO team, providing guidance on best practices, staying current on trends, and fostering professional development.
  9. Stay Ahead of SEO Trends & Algorithm Updates: Continuously monitor search engine algorithm updates and industry changes to ensure the SEO strategy adapts to evolving trends and search engine requirements.

Skills & Experience

  1. Proven Experience in SEO: 4+ years of experience in SEO, ideally within a startup, e-commerce, or Shopify environment. Proven track record of driving organic growth through both on-page and off-page strategies.
  2. Strong Technical SEO Knowledge: Deep understanding of technical SEO, including site speed, crawlability, structured data, mobile optimisation, XML sitemaps, and site architecture. Ability to conduct in-depth technical SEO audits and resolve issues in collaboration with developers.
  3. Expertise in SEO SaaS Tools: Experience using SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, or similar for keyword research, backlink analysis, and performance tracking. Proficiency in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Search Console (GSC) is a must.
  4. Strong On-Page SEO Experience: Expertise in optimising website content, metadata, headers, and URL structures. Proven ability to improve rankings through technical optimisations and content strategy.
  5. Link Building & Off-Page Strategy: Experience managing and executing link-building campaigns to acquire high-quality backlinks from authoritative websites and blogs.
  6. Analytical & Data-Driven: Comfortable working with large sets of data to analyse SEO performance, identify areas for improvement, and develop actionable insights. Strong knowledge of Google Analytics and GSC is required.
  7. Project Management & Leadership: Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities. Ability to lead and mentor a team of SEO professionals, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  8. Experience with E-commerce or Shopify (Preferred): Prior experience with e-commerce SEO, particularly on Shopify, or in a startup environment is a strong plus.
  9. Understanding of Content Strategy: Ability to create and optimise content strategies to attract, engage, and convert organic visitors while ensuring content is aligned with overall SEO goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience scaling organic traffic for both small and large websites.
  2. Strong understanding of international SEO best practices (for global markets).
  3. Familiarity with A/B testing, conversion rate optimisation (CRO), and UX/UI as they relate to SEO.
  4. Experience with HTML, CSS, or basic development skills is a plus.
