Our Retail events team activates local retail events across our UK estate. You will analyse and interrogate generated forecasts, collaborating cross-functionally and making data-informed decisions to drive operational savings and better outcomes for our customers during local events. You will apply a commercial and customer focus to local events, driving improvements in KPIs and demonstrating cost savings across cost lines. This role can be based from any of our SSC locations and will require some ad-hoc weekend working.

Here you will have the opportunity to utilise cutting-edge technologies such as machine learning and demand forecasting systems. You will play a crucial role in analysing data, generating insights, and driving operational savings and better outcomes for customers during local events. Your primary responsibility will be to utilise machine learning, demand forecasting, and store ordering systems to support the successful delivery of planned local events at various levels (category, store, cluster, and region). In addition, you will:

  • Analyse forecast model outputs to predict volume requirements and make informed decisions on store-level overrides when necessary.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, logistics, and retail business units to build relationships and ensure the best outcomes for customers, while proactively supporting stores during local event periods.
  • Influence and challenge stakeholders, contribute to continuous improvement targets, and drive operational savings.
  • Provide support for ad hoc queries and actively work to reduce such activities through end-to-end problem solving.
  • Contribute to a customer-centric mindset, apply critical thinking in decision-making, and demonstrate strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

You are a highly skilled and analytical professional with a strong business acumen and a customer-centric mindset. You understand the complexities of managing local events at category, store, cluster, and regional levels and can generate insights and trends from data. You have strong communication and negotiation skills to collaborate with stakeholders across the business and help plan and execute successful events.
