About The Team
The Concept Store Design & Delivery Manager role sits within the Argos Strategy & Transformation team responsible for shaping the future direction of Argos across all channels. This role specifically focuses on how customers experience Argos in‑store, bringing together customer insight, design expertise, and delivery capability to create innovative retail concepts across multiple store formats. By combining creative thinking with commercial focus, the team develops and delivers concepts that enhance the physical brand presence, improve customer journeys, and support wider business transformation.

As a Concept Store Design & Delivery Manager, you will lead the end‑to‑end development and delivery of retail design concepts, trials and initiatives across the Argos estate. From initial insight and brief creation through to final in‑store execution, you will ensure concepts are translated into high‑quality, customer‑focused environments that align to brand standards and deliver measurable outcomes. You will manage a varied portfolio of projects, taking ownership for creative direction, project planning, and delivery. Working closely with interior, architectural and graphic design teams, alongside retail, property and commercial stakeholders, you will ensure clear communication of design intent and consistent delivery. You will also lead external agencies and suppliers, manage budgets, provide ongoing design support and identify opportunities to improve ways of working.

You bring experience delivering retail design or store development projects, with the ability to translate insight into practical, customer‑focused environments. You are comfortable managing multiple projects of varying scale and complexity, balancing creative development with structured project delivery and stakeholder management. You communicate effectively across written, verbal and visual formats and are confident engaging stakeholders at different levels. You apply a customer‑focused approach, use insight to inform decisions and demonstrate ownership of project outcomes. You are also experienced in managing agencies and suppliers, ensuring delivery against agreed outputs and optimising value within budget constraints.
Essential Criteria
- Extensive knowledge of retail interior design, shop‑fit, equipment and construction delivery best practice.
- Experience working client‑side and/or agency‑side within retail design and construction environments.
- Strong track record of delivering complex retail projects to agreed timelines and budgets.
- Proven ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders up to Board level.
- Deep understanding of customer needs within physical retail environments.

- Detailed understanding of construction, equipment and production methods.
- Flexible, agile thinking with the ability to adapt to change.
