Joining the team at Sainsbury's as a Supply Chain Optimisation Manager means being part of an innovative and collaborative environment where you will lead impactful projects to enhance efficiency, service quality, and colleague experience across our supply chain operations. As a key driver of change and process improvement, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team, develop capabilities, and deliver lasting solutions that positively impact our business metrics. With a focus on continuous improvement and a commitment to fostering a supportive and results-driven culture, this role offers a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference within a leading retail organisation.

You’ll be responsible for leading the delivery of optimisation initiatives across the supply chain by managing projects, driving change, embedding new processes, and developing the capability of the Supply Chain team. Your role will involve overseeing end-to-end delivery of supply chain optimisation projects, developing and executing change-management strategies, documenting, standardising, and continuously improving supply chain processes, as well as designing and delivering training programmes to build capability and embed new practices. Additionally, you will work closely with stakeholders across various functions to ensure alignment and smooth delivery of initiatives, while monitoring the adoption and performance of implemented initiatives to ensure benefits are realised and sustained.

You’re a results-driven professional with a proven track record in project management, change delivery, and team leadership within the supply chain, retail, or FMCG sector. Your strong business process design expertise, stakeholder management skills, and ability to inspire and develop colleagues enable you to drive effective change, boost efficiency, and enhance service levels throughout the supply chain. With a continuous improvement mindset and a collaborative approach, you are dedicated to delivering measurable improvements, fostering high performance, and ensuring sustainable success in optimisation initiatives.

We are committed to being a truly inclusive retailer so you’ll be welcomed whatever you are and wherever you work. Around here, there’s always the chance to try something new — whether that’s as part of an evolving team or somewhere else across the business — and we take development seriously and promise to support you. We also recognise and celebrate colleagues when they go the extra mile and, where possible, offer flexible working. When you join our team, we’ll also offer you an amazing range of benefits. Here are some of them:

  • Starting off with colleague discount – 10% on shopping online and in-store at Sainsbury's, Argos, TU and Habitat, with the discount sometimes increasing to 15% at points during the year.
  • Pensions scheme and life cover.
  • Performance-related bonus of up to 20% of salary, depending on how we perform.
  • Annual holiday allowance – you can buy up to an additional week.
  • Private healthcare.
  • Season ticket loans.
  • Interest-free car loan up to £10,000.
  • Cycle-to-work scheme.
  • Health cash plans.
  • Salary advance (access some of your pay before payday).
  • Access to a great range of discounts from hundreds of other retailers.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Up to 26 weeks’ pay for maternity or adoption leave.
  • Up to 4 weeks’ pay for paternity leave.

Please see www.sainsburys.jobs for a range of our benefits (note, length of service and eligibility criteria may apply).

Supply Chain and Logistics are the engine room for getting thousands of products from farms and factories, through the business and to our millions of customers each day. We plan around events from barbecue weekends to Sunday roasts, and who wants oven-ready cauliflower cheese to those who prefer to make it from scratch. Insight and data are everything. But so is judgement – if there’s an issue or ambiguity anywhere, we’re the first to spot it. There’s a big transformation going on. That calls for people who champion change, bring others with them, collaborate and communicate. Because those people can go a very long way.
