As an Online Assistant, you’ll support a joyful shopping experience for our online customers so they get everything they shop at Sainsbury’s for.
Eligibility
- You must be above the school‑leaver age in your country.
- If the shifts for this role cover hours earlier than 6 am or later than 11 pm, you will need to be at least 18 years of age.
- You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver groceries to customers’ doorsteps, on time and in good condition.
- Complete checks to ensure the van is organised, clean and roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure before hitting the road.
- Serve customers brilliantly, supporting with any questions and substitutions, and keeping them aware of any delays.
- Build great knowledge about our products, services and promotions to provide recommendations.
- When not out making deliveries, help across the store as needed.
Candidate profile
- Friendly and welcoming with genuine enthusiasm for helping customers and providing the best doorstep experience.
- Proficient driving a large vehicle in different locations, including busy residential streets and narrow country lanes.
- Happy to work in a fast‑paced, physical and high‑energy environment, using initiative to solve problems, individually and as part of a team.
- Always ready to work flexibly and productively to a high standard across the store when needed – fully trained in a variety of skills, with opportunities to learn and develop.
- Comfortable learning to use new digital tools and technology effectively, and moving shopping containers up to 15 kg.
