About the team
You will join the Financial Operations function, supporting the Argos business through a significant period of finance transformation. The team plays a critical role in shaping how finance supports commercial propositions, technology change and regulatory compliance, working closely with Technology, Product and Commercial colleagues. This is a high-profile environment where finance expertise directly influences how new systems and ways of working are designed, implemented and embedded across the organisation.
More about the role
This role leads the delivery of finance workstreams across major transformation initiatives, focusing on the Order to Cash lifecycle. With solution design largely agreed, your day to day will centre on overseeing build activity, supporting testing phases, managing cutover and go-live, and ensuring effective stabilisation post-implementation. You will act as the primary finance interface for technology and change teams, ensuring accounting, control and regulatory requirements are fully embedded within new systems and processes.
You can expect to work on complex, cross-functional projects, designing future-state finance processes, documenting controls and accounting treatments, and identifying risks early. A key part of the role is supporting the transition into business-as-usual, making sure finance teams are operationally ready and confident to run new processes once projects go live.
More about you
You will bring demonstrable experience working across finance, technology and wider business teams, with the ability to operate confidently in complex change environments. You are comfortable partnering with senior stakeholders and able to influence, challenge, and provide clear financial insight to support decision making.
You are pragmatic and solutions focused, with the ability to translate technical finance and accounting requirements into clear, workable processes for non-finance colleagues. You are experienced in identifying financial and operational risks, articulating options, and supporting proportionate mitigation, while maintaining alignment with group policy and regulatory standards.
Essential criteria
- Experience working in cross-functional environments across Finance, Technology and wider business teams.
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships across multiple levels, including senior stakeholders.
- Ability to translate finance and accounting information for non-finance colleagues in a clear and pragmatic way.
Desirable
- Previous experience within finance operations.
- Understanding sales and takings posting and related finance processes.
- Experience delivering projects or workstreams within a change or transformation environment.
