More about the role

As a Strategy Manager, you will work closely with Directors and Heads of Strategy to analyse opportunities, develop recommendations, and prepare presentations for senior leaders. Your day-to-day will involve supporting and managing projects that span our entire portfolio, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and contributing insights that shape our Next Level Strategy through to 2027 and beyond. You will play an integral role in building business cases for Board approval, driving the ongoing business strategy process, and forging relationships across teams, including Strategy, Finance and Customer Insights & Data. This varied role offers the unique opportunity to gain a holistic view of our business, while leading the development and implementation of key projects that will shape our future.

You will have demonstrable experience in a strategic consulting environment or in-house strategy team, with a keen interest in the retail sector. Your ability to perform and communicate insightful analyses, combined with proficiency in core consulting tools and methods, will enable you to answer critical strategic questions and influence stakeholders at all levels. You are highly organised, thrive in collaborative settings, and can manage projects efficiently. Your communication and presentation skills are exemplary, and you are comfortable developing materials for senior audiences with a meticulous attention to detail. You are motivated, proactive, and eager to contribute new perspectives to help our business evolve.

Essential criteria

  • Demonstrable experience delivering structured corporate strategy projects within a consulting environment, with either a background from a top‑tier strategy firm or a major UK retailer.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the retail industry, customer behaviour and competitive landscape.
  • Evidenced expertise in applying data analytics, leveraging strategic frameworks, and employing robust analytical and data manipulation skills to address and resolve complex business challenges.
  • Experience interpreting financial reports and constructing economic models/business cases.
  • Proficient user of Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively across teams and at senior management level.
