We’d all like amazing work to do, and real work-life balance. That’s waiting for you at Sainsbury’s. Everything our Nectar team does is powered and fuelled by data — and by great relationships with some of the UK’s favourite brands. The Nectar 360 team focuses on developing loyalty programmes, turning amazing data into something that makes a difference, traditional media and digital. It’s like an agency-within-a-retailer, and retail media is crucial. The culture might not be what you expect either, because there’s no set‑up quite like this one. The team is a real priority because it’s connected to everything the business does and drives profitability. It’s where you can take risks, learn from them and be recognised.
Nectar360’s Digital Media team is building the UK’s most powerful insight‑and‑data‑led media services capability, connecting some of the nation’s favourite brands with customers to help them live well for less. We’re investing significantly in our Digital Trading Platform (DTP) and data assets to plan, target and measure campaigns across display, social and TV. You’ll join a close‑knit, ambitious team within Nectar360’s Commercial function, partnering with major FMCG and general merchandise brands and their agencies from our Holborn Store Support Centre.
You will own a defined agency patch, acting as the face of Nectar360’s digital proposition to your portfolio. Your focus is simple and meaningful: create and convert a healthy pipeline, deliver revenue and profit against target, and deepen relationships with both warm and new agency contacts. You’ll shape how our offering shows up in market—crafting compelling pitches and materials—and you’ll represent us confidently at all levels.
Day to day, you’ll qualify opportunities, align commitments with our Digital Trading team’s capacity, and provide timely feedback loops so campaigns are implemented to plan. You’ll contribute market and agency insight into new DTP propositions, and report regularly on pipeline health and performance. The role reports to the Digital Client Director and sits at the centre of a supportive ecosystem that includes training programmes, mentoring and industry‑recognised development via IAB courses and internal learning hubs.
You bring strong commercial acumen in digital media and a working knowledge of the media agency landscape. You’re highly organised, comfortable navigating change, and able to manage multiple workstreams without losing sight of the outcome. Your written and verbal communication is clear and persuasive, enabling you to explain data‑driven propositions and next steps to clients, agencies and internal stakeholders alike.
You’re proactive and resilient, able to operate independently while collaborating effectively across trading, product and commercial colleagues. You take accountability for results, act with integrity, and stay hands‑on—especially when it helps a client, a campaign or the team move faster.
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience in Digital Media; a strong digital commercial capability is essential.
- Relevant online advertising sales experience - familiarity and knowledge of the media agency landscape is crucial.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and changing situations.
- High level of resilience and tenacity required – must be able to deal with challenge from across the business whilst maintaining a positive and proactive style.
- Excellent verbal and written communication to promote the opportunity with agency contacts.
We are committed to being a truly inclusive retailer, so you’ll be welcomed whoever you are and wherever you work. Around here, there’s always the chance to try something new – whether that’s as part of an evolving team or somewhere else across the business – and we take development seriously and promise to support you. We also recognise and celebrate colleagues when they go the extra mile and, where possible, offer flexible working. When you join our team, we’ll also offer you an amazing range of benefits.
Benefits
- Starting off with colleague discount, you’ll be able to get 10% off at Sainsbury’s, Argos, TU and Habitat after 4 weeks. This increases to 15% off at Sainsbury’s every Friday and Saturday and 15% off at Argos every pay day.
- Pensions scheme and life cover.
- Performance‑related target bonus of up to 10% of salary (which may vary for Nectar360), depending on how we perform.
- Annual holiday allowance and the option to buy additional holiday.
- Season ticket loans, cycle to work scheme, health cash plans, pay advance (where you can access some of your pay before pay day) and access to a great range of discounts from hundreds of other retailers.
- Up to 26 weeks’ pay for maternity or adoption leave and up to 4 weeks’ pay for paternity leave.
