We're currently looking for a Buyer to join our Confectionery & Biscuits team, looking after Sweets. This is an exciting opportunity where you'll join a collaborative, commercially driven team working closely with major brands and cross-functional partners to deliver a distinctive, value-led offer for our customers.
More About The RoleAs a Buyer for Sweets, you'll own and deliver the commercial strategy, you'll analyse performance, build compelling customer-led ranges and identify opportunities for growth across branded and Own Brand ranges. You'll implement pricing and promotional activity, and lead cross-functional projects that drive market share and profitability. The Sweet category includes major suppliers, giving you the chance to work with some of the biggest names in the industry. You'll manage this sizeable category so prior buying experience is crucial in this role.
More About YouYou're a commercially minded buyer with strong negotiation skills and the ability to build productive relationships with major FMCG suppliers. You excel in fast-paced environments, make data-led decisions and can balance short-term trading delivery with long-term category strategy. You're confident managing complex categories, optimising secondary space and delivering clear commercial results. You collaborate well with cross-functional teams, communicate clearly and can adapt your style to influence stakeholders at all levels. You take ownership, stay curious and thrive on improving category performance.
Essential Criteria- Ability to analyse financial, customer and market data to make commercial decisions.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating cost prices or terms.
- Capability to build commercially effective product ranges in a competitive market.
- Proficiency in implementing pricing and promotional plans.
- Ability to prioritise workload effectively across multiple projects.
