In a nutshell, Nectar360 offers suppliers comprehensive multi‑channel marketing solutions in and around Sainsbury’s and Argos stores and online. We have a unique approach to store and customer planning. Using Nectar, the UK's most comprehensive customer database, their teams conduct advanced analysis to uncover new insights about shopper interactions and brands. This is an exciting opportunity for a Junior Insight Consultant to join the Nectar360 Data & Insight team to support in the delivery of insight consultancy projects to FMCG clients to achieve an overall team target.

We are looking for an ambitious Junior Insight Consultant with excellent communication and organisational experience to work with our suppliers, stakeholders, the Nectar360 Client Service team, and the Nectar360 Data & Insights team to drive revenue growth across Data & Insights ensuring customer data is at the heart of key business decisions for our clients and Sainsbury’s. Your ability to present actionable insights from our customer data is crucial as it enables informed decision-making, drives strategic initiatives, and helps identify opportunities for improvement, ultimately leading to better business outcomes for both our clients and Sainsbury’s. A positive, forward‑thinking, and can‑do attitude is essential as you will be working in one of the fastest growing and dynamic areas of the business.

Accountability

  • Support in client relationships
  • Identify consultancy opportunities across clients through:
  • Ability to frame client issues/questions, overlaying the Sainsbury’s trading context, and scoping the necessary analysis techniques needed to solve them
  • Proactively work with our Client Services teams to identify client leads and showcase how Nectar data can help drive growth in Sainsbury’s
  • Having a detailed knowledge of the best practice consultancy
  • Commercial responsibility for Data & Insight revenue
  • Work closely with manager to implement insight propositions for N360 clients

Align to Sainsbury’s Priorities

  • Understand and align to the Sainsbury’s strategy and what this means for our clients
  • Understand the role of trading insights and other central functions

Project Delivery

  • Support in the delivery of assigned consultancy projects
  • Stay abreast of new developments in FMCG, retail and insight analytics thought industry journals and appropriate conferences and events

SIP Commercial Support

  • Support the Sainsbury’s Insight Platform (SIP) commercial team in managing workload and priorities during high‑volume contract renewal periods
  • Produce internal reporting and performance metrics to support renewal activity, including usage, engagement, and value measures to inform commercial conversations
  • Support in identifying commercial opportunities with our client base, whether towards an SIP contract or ad‑hoc consultancy requests

SIP Helpdesk & Training

  • Learn the SIP system and support clients through training and manning the helpdesk

Visibility of Data & Insights

  • Develop effective cross‑functional relationships with peers and virtual teams within the business
  • Work closely with planning function to ensure all Nectar360 opportunities are shared

Essential Criteria

  • University degree or equivalent work experience
  • Data literate
  • Passion for the customer
  • Self‑motivated with an understanding of analytics
  • Quality conscious with an excellent eye for detail
  • Highly organised
  • Collaborative and comfortable communicating with internal colleagues and external clients
  • Proactive problem‑solving capabilities
  • High energy, organised, proactive and a team player with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Skilled at working in a matrix environment whilst also dealing with a wide variety of clients
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Commitment to ongoing personal development

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in customer insights using analytics and market research or a marketing function in Retail, FMCG, or consultancy preferred
  • High competence in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to understand business needs
