As an Agriculture Manager, you'll work collaboratively across the business and our value chains to implement Sainsbury's Agriculture Strategy for your areas of work. This includes sourcing policy, delivery of our Plan for Better sustainability commitments, innovation, supply chain resilience and security of supply, as well as our commercial Win In Food strategy. To achieve this, you'll engage and influence the Sainsbury's commercial and technical teams, our supplier partners & farmers as well as other external bodies.
As an Agriculture Manager at Sainsbury's, you are an experienced professional with a deep understanding of sustainable sourcing practices in the agricultural industry. With your background in agriculture and ideally a relevant degree, you bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to help shape the company's strategies and initiatives. Essential Criteria:- Degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related subject, or demonstrable experience in the agricultural industry, evidencing technical knowledge and sector understanding
- Demonstrable experience within the agricultural sector, ideally including livestock, with a track record of delivering measurable outcomes
- Commercial awareness and understanding of agricultural supply chains, with the ability to apply this knowledge to inform decision-making
- Strong knowledge of the UK agriculture sector, including market dynamics and industry considerations
- Willingness and ability to travel to supplier locations, including holding a valid UK driving licence.
