About the team
Join our fun, energetic, and collaborative Data & Insight team within Nectar360’s FMCG division. Based in Farringdon with hybrid working, our team uses the power of Nectar—one of the UK’s most comprehensive customer datasets—to help brands understand shoppers, unlock growth opportunities, and deliver smarter marketing. We work closely with suppliers across Sainsbury’s and Argos to turn data into stories and insights that drive strategic decisions. If you’re passionate about customers, curious about behaviour, and motivated by impact, you’ll feel right at home here.
More about the role
As a Retail Insight Consultant, you’ll take the lead on delivering consultancy projects for a portfolio of strategic and development clients. You’ll shape conversations, frame business challenges, and collaborate with analytics, market research, media planning, and commercial teams to design and deliver high‑impact insight solutions. You’ll also play a key role in generating new consultancy opportunities—building your project pipeline and supporting the team target. Day‑to‑day, you’ll translate customer data into actionable recommendations, manage stakeholder relationships, and oversee projects from scoping to delivery. You’ll ensure briefs are clearly defined, timelines are met, and outputs are commercially valuable. Alongside client‑facing work, you’ll contribute to cross‑team initiatives—including training, knowledge shares, and raising the visibility of Data & Insights across Nectar360. This is a role where you’ll influence category strategies, contribute to Sainsbury’s supplier priorities, and shape how major FMCG brands engage with shoppers.
More about you
You’ll bring strong data literacy and a passion for uncovering the “why” behind customer behaviour. You enjoy telling compelling stories with data and can confidently translate complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations. You’re commercially minded, comfortable managing multiple projects, and effective at building relationships with both clients and internal partners. You’ll thrive in a fast‑moving environment, balancing delivery excellence with the curiosity to spot new opportunities. You’re organised, proactive, and enjoy collaborating across functions. Most importantly, you bring energy, initiative, and a customer‑first mindset.
Essential criteria
- Ability to build insights from customer data and communicate findings clearly, verbally and in writing.
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end projects, including scoping, coordination, and delivery to agreed timelines and budgets.
- Demonstrated consultative approach to framing client issues and proposing evidence‑based next steps.
- Competence in using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to analyse data and create insight‑led deliverables.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and cross‑functional teams.
