As a Home Delivery Driver, you’ll be an essential part of delivering everything our online customers shop at Sainsbury’s.

Eligibility

  • You must be over 18.
  • You must have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points.
  • You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK.
  • You will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of your interview and a driving assessment when you join us.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a 3.5‑tonne van to deliver groceries to customer doorsteps on time and in great condition.
  • Perform checks to ensure the van is organised, clean, roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure before driving.
  • Serve customers brilliantly, support with any questions, substitutions, and keep them aware of any delays.
  • Build great knowledge about products, services and promotions to provide recommendations.
  • Help across the store as needed when not delivering.

  • Friendly and welcoming with a genuine enthusiasm for helping customers and providing the best doorstep experience.
  • Proficient at driving a large vehicle in varied locations, from busy residential streets to narrow country lanes.
  • Happy working in a fast‑paced, physical, high‑energy environment and able to use initiative to solve problems independently or within a team.
  • Always ready to work flexibly and productively across the store when needed, and eager to learn new digital tools and technology.
  • Comfortable lifting shopping containers up to 15 kg.
