What You'll Do

You will play a pivotal role in providing financial support to the Logistics Operations team, focusing on food depots, to enhance performance and drive decision-making processes. Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include delivering accurate and timely financial analysis, translating data into valuable business insights, and effectively communicating financial and non-financial information to stakeholders. You will actively contribute to period-end processes, financial reporting, and management reporting, offering insightful analysis and commentary to support strategic decision-making. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risks and opportunities, challenge existing practices for continuous improvement, and provide ad hoc analysis to drive business enhancements, all while demonstrating strong Excel skills, commercial acumen, attention to detail, and effective communication with various stakeholders.

Who You Are

You are a dedicated and part/fully qualified accountant with a strong ability to analyse data, provide valuable insights, and communicate financial information effectively to drive performance and decision-making. With your commercial acumen, attention to detail, and passion for continuous improvement, you play a crucial role in supporting the Finance Manager and stakeholders in interpreting financial data, identifying risks and opportunities, and contributing to the overall success of the business. Your self-motivation, teamwork skills, and curiosity to understand key business drivers make you a valuable asset in delivering timely and accurate financial analysis to support the logistics operations team.

Essential Criteria

  • Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Demonstrable experience in period/month end - posting journals, variance analysis and reporting, as well as demonstrable budgeting and forecasting experience
  • Proven ability to analyse financial and operational data using Excel and translate findings into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders
  • Demonstrable experience of managing competing priorities and delivering outcomes while meeting the expectations of both finance and business stakeholders in a changing environment
  • Evidence of commercial awareness, with the ability to understand key business drivers and assess their financial impact on performance and decision-making
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders of varying levels of financial knowledge, while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
