We’d all like amazing work to do, and real work-life balance. That’s waiting for you at Sainsbury’s. Everything our Nectar team does is powered by data and by strong relationships with some of the UK’s favourite brands. The Nectar360 team develops loyalty programmes, turning insight into something that makes a real difference, across both traditional and digital media. It’s like an agency within a retailer, and retail media is a crucial part of our future. The culture might not be what you expect either, because there’s no setup quite like this one. The team is a real priority, connected to almost everything the business does and playing a key role in driving profitability. It’s a place where you can take risks, learn from them, and be recognised.
About the team
Nectar360 helps suppliers build stronger connections with Sainsbury’s and Argos customers through data, insight and multi-channel marketing. Our Data & Insight team uses Nectar, the UK’s most comprehensive customer database, to uncover how shoppers interact with brands and turn those findings into practical commercial opportunities. You will join a collaborative, ambitious team working with colleagues across Client Service, Finance, Planning, Analytics and Buying, as well as a broad portfolio of FMCG suppliers.
More about the role
As Senior Client Insight Manager, you will lead the commercial and client-service relationship for Sainsbury’s Insight Platform (SIP) clients across Food and Non-food. You will own annual renewals, develop new-business proposals, convert pipeline opportunities and help suppliers make better, faster decisions by getting more value from the platform. You will act as an ambassador for SIP, delivering demonstrations and review sessions to existing and prospective clients. Day to day, you will monitor platform usage, identify accounts where engagement or renewal may be at risk and build practical plans to improve adoption. You will calculate fees for SIP and EPOS renewals and proposals, coordinate contract set-up and financial administration, support aged-debt activity and keep opportunities accurately updated in internal systems. You will also create external client communications, share relevant market insight and manage one direct report, supporting their development and contribution to team goals.
More about you
- You will bring strong client or account-management experience and be comfortable leading commercial conversations, negotiating renewals and presenting recommendations to a range of stakeholders.
- You can understand a client’s business needs, use customer or shopper data to identify opportunities and translate complex information into clear, persuasive proposals, reviews and demonstrations.
- You will be organised, numerate and confident managing several priorities at once without losing attention to detail.
- You build trusted relationships across matrix teams, communicate clearly in writing and in person, and take a proactive approach when a client needs support or a commercial issue needs resolving.
- Experience in FMCG, retail, loyalty, retail media, shopper insight or data platforms would be useful, as would experience supporting or managing another colleague.
- Demonstrable experience managing client or supplier accounts, including commercial negotiations, renewals or new-business proposals.
- Evidence of using customer, shopper or commercial data to identify opportunities and support business decisions.
- Experience creating and delivering client proposals, account reviews, presentations or product demonstrations to senior stakeholders.
- Ability to calculate or validate commercial fees and maintain accurate contract, pipeline or financial information using Excel and related business systems.
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, client priorities and deadlines, with clear examples of proactive problem solving and accurate delivery.
