Immediate start based initially at Wales 1 Business Park, Magor, NP26 3DG until early spring 2026 when we move to our brand new purpose built depot in Access 18, Avonmouth, BS11 8HT.

As a Transport Assistant, you will assist in the smooth operation of the Transport Office, compiling and maintaining documentation and managing information. You’ll ensure our drivers depart and arrive on time, processing vital information, issuing journey details, liaising with our suppliers/stores and RDCs.
Shift Type and Hours: Working 12 hour shifts and averaging 42 hours per week on a flexible rota which will incorporate day shifts (07:00 to 19:00) and night shifts (19:00 to 07:00) with the flexibility to fit the needs of our operations where required. Holidays will be on a pro-rata basis.

- Briefing and debriefing our drivers on both departure and return from each journey
- Effectively communicating to customers and Sainsbury’s Depots, ensuring incoming calls are answered and dealt with promptly
- Assisting the management team in providing a professional service
- Working well within the transport team function to ensure deadlines are met
- Generating driver journey sheets from in-house computer systems and issuing to drivers
- Producing reports, such as missing volume, debrief status, and unconfirmed orders
- Collating weekly information for transport auditing purposes
