Argos is a market leader in the general merchandise sector with strong online and same-day delivery capabilities. The Commercial Buying team works with Digital, Marketing, Retail and Logistics to deliver for customers and supports your development with line-manager guidance.

What you\\\’ll do
You will contribute to delivering ambitious growth plans and offer customers a great range of products at competitive prices. Your responsibilities include:
- Developing the 3–6 month promotional strategy for your category
- Ensuring pricing accuracy across all channels
- Building supplier relationships and negotiating effectively
- Optimising the product range and considering the in-store experience
- Collaborating with the Product Development (PD) team and global sourcing to set quality criteria for own-label products
- Managing administrative duties and sample coordination in a fast-paced environment
Who you are
You are an experienced professional with a background in buying, preferably in retail, with strong analytical and numerical skills, excellent communication and organisational abilities, and the ability to work with UK suppliers and cross-functional teams. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a problem-solving mindset.
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience in commercial buying or merchandising
- Ability to work at pace and prioritise workload
- Strong knowledge of supplier relationship management
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently
