What you’ll do
As a Product Technologist at Sainsbury\’s, your role will encompass the management and delivery of all aspects of the Sainsbury’s Brand product and technical plans for the product area. You will work closely with suppliers, product developers, trading, supply chain, and retail teams to ensure the safe, legal, and high-quality production of Sainsbury\’s brand products that meet agreed specifications, standards, and policies. In this role, your focus will be on driving the quality and technical agenda for the Dairy product area, including the delivery of our Net Zero commitments and keeping the customer at the heart of all decisions. You will be responsible for managing and improving the technical performance of the product area, ensuring the safety, legality, and quality of Sainsbury\’s brand products while maintaining brand reputation and due diligence. Additionally, you will manage projects to improve product quality, implement quality standards, and proactively manage the supply base to drive the technical agenda and deliver a step change in product quality. Your role will also involve setting supplier KPIs, managing supplier compliance, and implementing joint business plans and technical plans to enhance product quality and align with the Sainsbury\’s brand strategy. Throughout your work, you will demonstrate commercial awareness, strong technical knowledge, and attention to detail, while driving improvements and ensuring the accurate communication of product information and adherence to standards and regulations.
