Joining Sainsbury\'s as the Occupational Wellbeing Advisor - Musculoskeletal Health means being part of a team dedicated to enhancing the physical health and safety of our employees nationwide. With a focus on reducing harm and absence through proactive guidance and impactful interventions, this role offers the opportunity to make a significant difference in the wellbeing of our colleagues across various Sainsbury\'s locations, from Store Support Centres to retail outlets and logistics centres. What you\'ll do
As the Occupational Wellbeing Advisor, you will play a critical role in identifying and addressing work-related physical health impacts nationwide, providing guidance on implementing changes to reduce harm and absence across all areas of the business. You will act as a subject matter expert on physical wellbeing, conducting risk assessments, investigations, and providing recommendations to improve procedures and processes to enhance the overall safety and health of employees. Collaborating with various stakeholders, you will contribute to policy creation, present findings, and drive the implementation of corrective actions to mitigate physical impact trends, ensuring a proactive approach to improving the wellbeing of all colleagues.
Who you are
As the Occupational Wellbeing Advisor - Musculoskeletal Health, you are a dedicated and knowledgeable professional with a background in health and safety or health management, specialising in musculoskeletal health (MSK) and recovery. Your ability to proactively identify physical health risks, conduct specialist risk assessments, and provide guidance on implementable changes to reduce harm and absence demonstrates your commitment to enhancing the wellbeing of colleagues nationwide. With strong communication skills, a coaching approach, and the capability to influence stakeholders at all levels, you play a vital role in guiding leadership on strategies to improve physical health and safety across the organisation.
- Demonstrable ability to manage multiple projects independently, including prioritising tasks and selecting locations and risks aligned with strategic objectives.
- Proven expertise in musculoskeletal (MSK) health and ergonomics, with a track record of identifying physical health risks and developing targeted interventions.
- Proficient in data analysis using software such as Excel and Power BI, with evidence of applying insights to monitor performance and support decision-making.
- Applied knowledge of health and safety regulations, with experience advising on compliance and best practice across varied workplace settings.
- Experience in designing and implementing workplace health interventions, particularly within corporate environments, aimed at reducing physical strain and enhancing employee health and wellbeing.
