Joining Sainsbury's as a Merchandiser in our Grocery & GM Operations team means being part of a leading retail organisation with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences. As a key member of our Food Commercial division, you will have the opportunity to create best-in-class planograms for our plinths, ensuring they are customer-friendly and align with our corporate merchandising principles. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to shaping retail execution strategies and optimising product displays. What you'll do

  • As a Merchandiser in Grocery Operations at Sainsbury's, your main responsibility will be to create best-in-class planograms for plinths across both supermarkets and convenience stores, ensuring they are customer-friendly, easy to shop, and align with corporate merchandising principles and rule sets.
  • You will develop the merchandising strategy for plinths supporting the delivery of key value messages as well as seasonal events.
  • Collaborating with the Category, Supply Chain, and Retail teams, you will work towards producing and delivering planograms that are suitable for right-first-time store execution.
  • You will track milestones, handle cross-functional communication, and address queries from retail in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Your attention to detail, organisation skills, and ability to prioritise and plan your workload will be key to successfully completing tasks.
  • Your strong analytical skills will help you manipulate and analyse data effectively.

Ultimately, your role will contribute to enhancing the customer experience through effective merchandising strategies and well-executed planograms.

Requirements

  • Demonstratable experience creating or supporting the delivery of merchandising planograms using relevant software.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstratable understanding of retail customer behaviour and core merchandising principles.
  • Proven ability to interpret and work with data using Excel and other business tools.
  • Demonstratable ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
