At Argos, we’re a digital‑led UK retailer that keeps pushing boundaries to meet every generation with what they want, how and when they want it. As a market leader in general merchandise, serving millions of customers through our website, app, same‑day delivery and Click & Collect services, we offer real opportunities to learn, grow and shape your career.

About the team

You’ll be joining the Argos People Employee Relations & Policy team, a specialist function supporting leaders and colleagues across the business to navigate complex employee relations matters with confidence and fairness. The team plays a critical role in managing risk, enabling good decision‑making, and ensuring that our policies and practices align with both employment law and our valued behaviours.

More about the role

As an Employee Relations & Policy Executive, you’ll support the delivery of expert ER advice on complex, high‑risk, and high‑profile cases. Your day‑to‑day will involve advising leaders on sensitive employee relations matters, assessing risk, tracking cases to resolution, and ensuring advice aligns with policy, employment law, and Argos’ valued behaviours.

You’ll also play a key role in analysing ER data to identify trends and risk areas, supporting initiatives to improve outcomes in areas such as absence, performance, and long‑term sickness. In addition, you’ll contribute to tribunal preparation, deliver training and briefings on new policies, and coach leaders to strengthen their confidence and capability in managing ER issues.

More about you

  • Proven experience in employee relations, with the confidence to manage complex and sensitive cases in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Comfortable assessing risk, applying sound judgement, and tailoring your advice to achieve balanced outcomes that work for both colleagues and the business.
  • A credible and collaborative partner, able to influence and challenge stakeholders constructively while building trust at all levels.
  • A data‑led and pragmatic mindset, strong communication skills, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Benefits

We are committed to being a truly inclusive retailer so you’ll be welcomed who you are and wherever you work. Around here, there’s always the chance to try something new — whether that’s as part of an evolving team or somewhere else across the business — and we take development seriously and promise to support you. We also recognise and celebrate colleagues when they go the extra mile and, where possible, offer flexible working. When you join our team, we’ll also offer you an amazing range of benefits.

  • Colleague discount – 10% off shopping online and in‑store at Sainsbury’s, Argos, TU and Habitat, with a potential increase to 15% at points during the year.
  • Pensions scheme and life cover.
  • Performance‑related bonus of up to 10% of salary, depending on company performance.
  • Annual holiday allowance with the option to purchase up to an additional week of holiday.
  • Season ticket loans, cycle‑to‑work scheme, health cash plans, salary advance, and access to a range of discounts from hundreds of other retailers.
  • Employee assistance programme.
