Finance Technology Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Technology Manager to lead the delivery, operation, and continuous improvement of Finance Technology services that support some of Sainsbury's most critical business processes.

Working closely with Finance stakeholders, Product teams, engineers, architects, and strategic suppliers, you will be responsible for ensuring our Finance platforms remain secure, resilient, compliant, and aligned to business objectives. You'll play a key role in shaping technology roadmaps, delivering transformation programmes, managing third-party partners, and driving operational excellence across a portfolio of enterprise Finance applications and SaaS solutions.

What you'll do

  • Own and deliver the technology roadmap for finance systems including Oracle EBS.
  • Lead the operation and continuous improvement of business-critical finance platforms and SaaS applications.
  • Partner with Finance, Product, and Technology stakeholders to prioritise demand and deliver business value.
  • Drive technology delivery for transformation, regulatory, and compliance initiatives.
  • Ensure services are secure, resilient, and operationally robust through effective risk, cyber, disaster recovery, and continuity planning.
  • Lead service management activities, including incident, problem, and change management, to improve service reliability and performance.
  • Manage technology risks, controls, audits, and remediation activities.
  • Provide technical governance and assurance across projects and service changes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers and delivery partners, ensuring performance and value for money.
  • Manage budgets across both change and run activities.
  • Lead, coach, and develop internal teams and third-party partners to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Champion automation, innovation, and continuous improvement across the Finance Technology estate.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience leading technology delivery in a large-scale enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise applications, ERP platforms, and cloud-based SaaS solutions.
  • Experience managing third-party suppliers and outsourced service providers.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage at all levels.
  • Experience delivering transformation programmes while maintaining operational stability.
  • Knowledge of ITIL, service management, risk management, and technology governance.
  • Understanding of cyber security, resilience, disaster recovery, and compliance requirements.
  • Commercially astute, with experience managing budgets, contracts, and supplier performance.
