In a nutshell:
- Work with internal support teams & 3rd parties to ensure annual Disaster Recovery testing is performed and recorded for all critical systems for the whole of the business.
- Manage, implement and drive continuous improvements, including “out of the box” thinking, to ensure the team continues to grow.
- Provide support to projects and all levels of management demonstrating governance requirements.
- Carry out monthly 1-2-1 sessions and end of year reviews with each team member, to monitor performance and development needs.
- Set goals and objectives which are monitored and discussed in the 1-2-1 sessions.
- Engage in internal audits when required and agree timescales for any actions.
- Represent the team in projects that are under a Non-Disclosure Agreement, always ensuring confidentiality.
What I am accountable for:
- Responsible and accountable for developing, implementing and maintaining disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure the continuity of service in the event of a disruption.
- Ensure compliance with the resilience policy and disaster recovery framework through effective testing, operational controls and comprehensive reporting.
- Manage and lead the disaster recovery team, providing guidance, support, and strengthening disaster recovery capabilities.
- Ensure risk and control management is kept up to date and alignment to the business processes.
- Provide expertise and support to management and business functional areas, as requested, for all disaster recovery processes.
- Lead and support the development of disaster recovery plans.
- Coordinate, manage and conduct annual disaster recovery testing exercises.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, maximising the use the tools available to strengthen operational resilience.
- Review Important Business Services to identify any gaps or deficiencies in disaster recovery provision for supporting IT services.
- Facilitate and support the execution of the plans at the time of a crisis event.
- Provide advice and support to projects to ensure that new systems meet the required standards.
- Report the business disaster recovery status to senior management and key stakeholders.

- Strong knowledge of disaster recovery principles, practices, and technologies.
- Experience in automating disaster recovery management and orchestration (Experience of ServiceNow desirable).
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
- Project management, organisation, and communication skills.
