Designer

Ready to design collections that customers can’t wait to wear? We’re looking for a designer with a sharp eye for trend, an instinct for commerciality and a genuine love and experience of womenswear denim and casual wovens product. You’ll help shape inspiring, multi‑product ranges, bringing fresh ideas, confident silhouettes and considered details that feel right for the high street now. If you thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative studio, understand how to turn trends into best‑sellers and want to grow with a brand that values creativity and teamwork, we’d love to hear from you – whether your background is retailer or supplier.

What you’ll do

You’ll support the Senior Designer in setting and delivering the seasonal design vision across womenswear, taking full ownership of the denim and casual woven’s category. From mood boards and colour stories to shape development, you’ll translate macro and category trends into cohesive, commercially winning ranges. You’ll partner closely with Buying, Technical, Sourcing and Merchandising to engineer products that balance aesthetic, quality and cost, guiding each style from first sketch to signed‑off sample while keeping the critical path on track.

You’ll review fit and finish through a customer‑first lens, share trend and product narratives with Marketing, PR and Digital to bring key stories to life, and nurture strong relationships with our global supply base. Sustainability remains a constant thread in your process, and you’ll help coach assistants’ day‑to‑day to keep the team agile, curious and delivery‑focused. Inspiration trips, trade fairs and time spent in shops, museums and galleries keep your ideas fresh -and your collections one step ahead.

  • Previous experience in denim & casual wovens garment design, with a proven track record.
  • Background in designing for a high street retailer or supplier, ideally within girlswear or womenswear.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of UK and international retail dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor assistants effectively.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Buying, Technical, Sourcing, and Merchandising teams.
  • Technical knowledge of clothing manufacturing processes and product engineering.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, plus other relevant design packages.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive, positive, and agile approach to working, with a passion for continuous learning and development.
  • Commitment to legal, ethical, and sustainability standards.
