Joining Sainsbury's as the FM Investment Planning & Payments Manager means being at the forefront of shaping and optimising capital investment delivery and supplier payment performance for a leading retail organisation. You will drive strategic decision-making, while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to enhance the FM capital investment plan and ensure alignment with broader business objectives. With a focus on continuous improvement and innovation, you will have the opportunity to lead high-impact projects, influence at all levels, and drive meaningful change that positively impacts our bottom line and future growth.
What you’ll do
- You’ll have end-to-end accountability for the governance and optimisation of capital investment delivery and supplier payment performance across Sainsbury’s.
- You will ensure that investments are targeted to the right assets, at the right time, and at the right cost.
- Your role will involve working cross-functionally with Finance, Property, Procurement, and Operational FM teams to shape and own the FM capital investment plan, ensuring alignment with wider business priorities and key asset performance metrics.
- You will lead the definition and management of the FM capital programme, maximising value by linking capital investment to revenue efficiencies and sustainable cost outcomes, while also ensuring accurate and timely supplier payments.
Who you are
- You have a strong background in capital investment management, commercial governance, and facilities management within a large multi-site organisation.
- With exceptional project and programme management skills, you excel in shaping strategic roadmaps and plans that drive efficiency, reduce risk, and improve outcomes.
- Your ability to balance strategic oversight with operational problem-solving, coupled with your strong stakeholder management experience and leadership qualities, allows you to drive continuous improvement, innovate through data-led insights, and ensure the successful governance and optimisation of capital investment delivery and supplier payment performance.
- Demonstrable experience managing a capital investment programme within a large, multi‑site organisation.
- Demonstrable experience in portfolio investment planning, property investment appraisals, FM or property project delivery.
- Proven use of project and programme management methods to deliver defined outcomes across multiple workstreams.
- Experience balancing competing priorities and dependencies across stakeholders and delivery teams.
