Overview

Lead and manage a small team of managers overnight, delivering replenishment activities ready for customers the following morning. Night shift managers work full-time hours over 4 nights with a £4,500 premium on top of base salary. Night shifts typically run from 22:00 to 08:00.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a small team of managers overnight, ensuring replenishment activities are completed and ready for customers the following morning, in partnership with colleagues.
  • Plan for upcoming key trading activities and events by working closely with the store leadership team.
  • People management, including pay and scheduling routines, training, communication and employee relations activities such as managing performance, absence, and disciplining where required.
  • Regularly taking full accountability for the store overnight, role modelling and coaching for high standards and efficiency across the store.
  • Take accountability for the health and safety of all colleagues on shift.

Experience and qualifications

  • Experience leading large teams in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment with a track record of developing leaders and high-performing teams.
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer experiences across complex operations.
  • Proven success in delivering and improving KPIs such as sales, stock availability, customer satisfaction and colleague engagement.
  • Experience managing sensitive and complex people matters, including performance, absence, and formal employee relations cases, with fairness and sound judgement.
  • Leadership experience in an operational environment (retail, hospitality, or food service) with ownership of departmental performance and ability to lead in the absence of senior leadership.
  • Evidence of leading change, including rolling out new ways of working or systems and shifting team mindsets.
  • Desirable: experience working night shifts in a high-volume, operational environment and ability to create a safe, supportive atmosphere during out-of-hours trading.
