You’ll be joining the Argos People Employee Relations & Policy team, a specialist function supporting leaders and colleagues across the business to navigate complex employee relations matters with confidence and fairness. The team plays a critical role in managing risk, enabling good decision-making, and ensuring that our policies and practices align with both employment law and our valued behaviours. Working at the centre of Argos, the team partners closely with senior leaders, employment law experts, and wider people teams to deliver commercially sound and human-centred outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide expert employee relations advice on complex, high‑risk, and high‑profile cases.
  • Balance reactive case management with proactive, insight‑led interventions that build capability across the business.
  • Advise leaders on sensitive employee relations matters, assess risk, track cases to resolution, and ensure advice aligns with policy, employment law, and Argos’ valued behaviours.
  • Analyse ER data to identify trends and risk areas, and support initiatives to improve outcomes in absence, performance, and long‑term sickness.
  • Contribute to tribunal preparation, deliver training and briefings on new policies, and coach leaders to strengthen their confidence and capability in managing ER issues.

Qualifications & experience

  • Demonstratable experience providing employee relations advice on complex or high‑risk cases and following cases through to resolution.
  • Proven knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application within an organisational context.
  • Evidence of analysing ER data to identify trends, assess risk, and inform action plans or recommendations.
  • Proven experience influencing and advising stakeholders at multiple levels, including senior leaders.
  • Demonstratable capability in communicating ER guidance clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
