Delivery Driver - Argos

Overview

As a Home Delivery Driver, you will deliver Argos products to customers’ doors, providing an industry-leading fast-track service while maintaining high standards of safety and service.

Responsibilities

• Driving a 3.5 tonne van to deliver a variety of products to customers’ doors on time and in good condition.
• Completing checks to ensure the van is organized, clean and roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure before driving.
• Serving customers brilliantly by answering questions and keeping them informed of any delays.
• Learning to use new technology to perform your job effectively and driving a large vehicle in a range of locations from residential streets to country lanes.
• When not on the road, helping maintain a slick operation in the stock room or on the shop floor.
• Building knowledge about our products, services and promotions to provide informed recommendations.

Eligibility and requirements

• Friendly and professional with a genuine enthusiasm for helping customers and delivering the best doorstep experience as the face of Argos.
• Proficient in driving a large vehicle in diverse locations, from busy residential streets to narrow country lanes, and delivering to varied residential properties.
• Happy working in a fast-paced, physical and high-energy environment, using initiative to solve problems—often working independently but also thriving as part of a team.
• Willing to work flexibly to a high standard across the store when needed; fully trained in a variety of skills with opportunities to learn and develop.
• Comfortable embracing new digital tools and technology to do the job well.
• Must be over 18 and hold a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points.
• Will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of the interview; if successful, a driving assessment will be conducted on joining us.
• Must have Right to Work in the UK.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts across the week and three shift blocks during the day: 05:00–13:00, 13:00–18:00, 18:00–22:30. Hours scheduled to fit availability and may vary; overtime opportunities may exist, including support for your local Sainsbury’s.
