As an Analyst in Sainsbury's Commercial Analytics team, you'll use data and advanced analytical techniques to shape our Commercial strategy across all categories and channels. Your work delivers real impact, influencing the products we range, the promotions we run and the prices experienced by millions of customers across the UK.

This role sits within our Range, Space & COGs team where you will play a pivotal role in delivering impactful, end-to-end analytical work and recommendations for some of our largest strategic outcomes around First Choice for Food as well as Save and Invest to Win. You will partner closely with Commercial, Engineering, and Data Science to develop insights and leading edge analytical capabilities that influence decisions across Macro Space, Ranging, Merchandising and Supplier Planning domains.

You'll operate in a fast-paced environment, ensuring your work is accurate, commercially relevant and aligned to clear business objectives. Through clear and compelling storytelling, you'll translate complex data into actionable insights that influence decisions across the organisation.

As part of our central Data & Analytics function, you'll have access to modern tools, deep technical expertise and a strong peer network to support your development. Our Data & Analytics team is building a technically advanced, commercially focused and impactful capability, powering our Next Level Strategy and helping to create a Sainsbury's powered by industry leading AI algorithms. We use data, technology and advanced analytics to drive better decisions across the business, from forecasting and optimisation to experimentation, personalisation and machine learning.   • Build cutting-edge data products (e.g. statistical modelling, ETL pipelines, BI dashboards) to unlock scalable insights.
  • Turn vast, complex datasets into clear commercial opportunities that drive range & space optimisations as well as supplier cost improvements.
  • Partner cross-functionally (Commercial, Engineering, Data Science) to embed insights.
  • Influence decision-making through compelling data storytelling and stakeholder engagement.
  • Tackle ambiguous challenges, structuring them into clear, actionable analytical approaches.

Qualifications

  • Strong numerate background (degree or equivalent experience).
